Golden Jaguars’ off to Suriname for 4-nation Independence tourney

Guyana’s ‘Golden Jaguars’ the flagship senior national football team have arrived in Suriname to do battle against the hosts, French Guiana and the Netherlands Antilles in the Suriname Independence Football tournament.
The team under head coach Wayne ‘Wiggy’ Dover arrived in the Dutch speaking nation late yesterday afternoon and are expected to practice today ahead of their opening clash against Suriname tomorrow evening.
Dover disclosed that he is expecting his young charges to do their best in this tournament as the GFF counties to expose young players in keeping with their aim of rebuilding for the future.
The 18-man squad reads; Goalkeepers – Ronson Williams and Roland Dey. Defenders – Kelvin Mc Smith, Darius Garraway, Colin Nelson, Brion Baker and Dirk Archer. Midfield – Quacy Johnson, Philbert Moffatt, Travis Grant, Jamal Breedy, Dwain Jacobs, Reshawn Sandiford, Warren Gilkes and Marlon Benjamin. Forwards – Devon Millington, Peter Parks and Marvin Joseph. STAFF Head Coach Wayne Dover, Assistant Coaches – Bilall Nantambu and Marlon Washington, Goal Keeper Coach – Andrew Hazel and Manager Adermi Peters.
Guyana will play French Guiana on Friday and Netherlands Antilles on Sunday.
